Amport Trout Fishery - COVID 19 Guidelines

We would politely ask anglers not to meet other anglers in the car park - if you are meeting someone that is not part of your family we do request that you stagger your arrival so that you can get out to the lake separately. This is for your own safety and also for the staff that live and work on-site.

We would kindly ask anglers to pay for fishing tickets online or over the phone prior to your visit as we prefer not to handle cash.

We request that all anglers remain socially distant from each other and fishery staff - a minimum of two meters. The Angling Trust is advising 15 meters when fishing, so please no gathering in groups.

We will only allow four anglers to fish the lake at any one time.

The toilets are available and have anti-bacterial hand wash for your use. Please wash your hands!

The fishing shed is open for you to weigh and record your fish. There is a roll of polythene tubing so that anglers can bag their fish. There is also hand sanitiser available in the fishing shed for your use.

If you or anyone else within your household have come in contact with, or suspect you have Covid-19, please do not visit our fishery until you are all fully recovered, you may want to consider booking later in the year.

  • A valid Ticket must be purchased before fishing may begin - strictly Fly Fishing only!

  • All fish caught must be retained - there is no catch and release policy at the fishery.

  • All anglers must have landing nets and priests.

  • All fish caught must be weighed and recorded in the fishery log in the fishing shed.

  • All anglers must have a current and correct fishing license for the day.

  • Please wear suitable clothing - no beachwear.

  • Please do not leave lengths of line, flies, or litter around the fishery.

  • On reaching your limit you must stop fishing but you are more than welcome to purchase extra tickets.

  • No wading or swimming in the lake.

  • No shared rods.

  • Please do NOT gut your fish anywhere on the premises.

  • Children are very welcome but are to be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

  • Well behaved dogs by prior permission only.

  • Please turn the sound off on mobiles while fishing. Our fish do not bite when ringtones disturb the peace!

If you break these rules you may be asked to leave the fishery.
