ABOUT AMPORT TROUT FISHERY

Amport Trout Fishery has been welcoming anglers from across the United Kingdom and around the world since 2006, offering half-day, full-day, or longer fishing experiences in a truly peaceful setting.

​

The fishery is owned and operated by William (Will) Hawkings-Byass. Originally established on the site of old watercress beds, Will dedicated seven years of hard work to transform the land into the tranquil trout lake you see today. With extensive knowledge of trout and fly fishing, he is always on hand to welcome guests and offer advice to both beginners and experienced anglers.

In addition to the fishery, Will runs a successful garden landscaping business, Greenflints.com.

Since opening, the lake has continued to develop and flourish. Will works diligently to encourage plant life, maintain healthy grass, and provide excellent cover for insects and birdlife, creating a balanced and thriving ecosystem around the lake.

The fishery has produced some impressive catches, including a record 19 lb 6 oz trout, with anglers regularly landing fine specimens in the 4–5 lb range.
